Tax on business profits and gains often represents
one of the largest single costs a business incurs and
quite rightly businesses are anxious to minimise this
cost. We are able to offer a complete taxation service
which includes:
Planning
Dependent upon a client’s requirements the most
appropriate and tax efficient vehicle to carry on a
business can be decided upon, be this as a sole trader,
partnership, limited partnership or a limited company.
Having decided upon the vehicle to carry on the business
we are able to advise upon the structure of the business
to best achieve the client’s wishes.
Tax Computations
We can prepare computations of business profits for both
incorporated and unincorporated businesses, i.e. sole
trader and partnerships, together with the preparation
of Corporation Tax Returns and Partnership Self
Assessment Returns.
Capital Gains Tax
Capital Gains Tax is applied to limited companies as
well as individuals and at Bland & Co. we are able to
deal with all computational matters in determining the
liability. We are able to negotiate with H.M. Revenue &
Customs with regard to valuation of business assets.
H.M. Revenue and Customs Investigations
A key feature of self-assessment is the policy of H.M.
Revenue& Customs to conduct random and selected
enquiries which means that no one is immune from
investigation. We are able to respond on a client’s
behalf to enquiries made by H.M. Revenue & Customs into
a business’s affairs, effectively and efficiently
enabling the enquiry to be settled quickly and at
minimum cost to the client. We have the facility to
offer optional Insurance cover in this respect.
PAYE and National Insurance Compliance
The compliance unit which enquires into payroll matters
has become more active in recent years and we are
normally able to deal with any queries raised quickly
and effectively.
Value Added Tax
This tax is regarded by many as the most complex, with
numerous pitfalls into which the unwary may fall. We are
able to advise on registration, whether compulsory or
voluntary and the VAT implications of any particular
transaction.
